No win no fee injury

Last week I received no fewer than seven emails from various companies that I had never even heard of telling me all about their No win no fee injury service. Well first of all, I have not had any injuries in recent months or even years and am therefore am not seeking any advice from no win no fee companies, but secondly why was I picked to receive all these emails? I suppose I must have filled in a form somewhere along the line that was not in the least bit connected and somehow my name has then been circulated to receive this and other emails to do with Viagra, teeth whitening, breast enhancement etc etc that are not in any way of interest or relevance to me.

Then I got thinking. Thankfully, I haven’t had any accidents and so dealing with no win no fee has never even crossed my mind, but what if the unthinkable happened. Nobody plans these things and hopefully the situation would never arrive, but maybe I should find out a little more just in case, or is that tempting fate?

So one morning, feeling bored, I got onto the Internet and typed in ‘No win no fee injury’ for my motorcycle accident compensation. There were literally pages and pages of information. I am sure most were perfectly legitimate companies for personal injury solicitors, but there are so many, how do you decide who to use? I suppose your best bet is to go by personal recommendation, but I for one, don’t know anyone in this situation.

So what does it mean? Well, what I found out was that if you have had an injury or accident that was not your fault, you have the right to claim personal injury compensation. Usually, whoever was responsible for causing the accident or injury, will have insurance to cover the costs. This would normally be cases such as an accident at work or a road traffic accident and if you don’t make a claim you could suffer all sorts of expenses such as loss of earnings or medical expenses. Apparently the 'no win no fee' legal system came into being in the mid 90s, which is really great news as you can now make a claim without having to risk the possibility of a large legal bill in the event that your claim is unsuccessful.

Most no win no fee lawyers will only take on a personal injury compensation claim if they are sure they can win, as they obviously don’t want to lose money. They will only be paid if your claim is successful. You will need to discuss the precise arrangement with your no win no fee injury lawyer.

If, by any chance you lose your claim, you won’t have to pay your solicitor, but you may have to pay the costs of the other party. This could also include court fees or perhaps a medical report, but your solicitor may ask you to take out some sort of insurance against this before you start proceedings.

Hopefully, you will never be in this situation, but it is comforting to know that there are no win no fee solicitors that can help and advise for your no win no fee claim if the unthinkable happens.
